Fans Question Police Closure of Social Media Influencer RJ Simran's Death Investigation

Despite police concluding suicide as cause of death, followers of the vibrant 26-year-old content creator known as 'Jammu Ki Dhadkan' call for deeper investigation, pointing to her recent upbeat social media posts.

RJ Simran

RJ Simran Singh's last Instagram post, showing her dancing joyfully on a beach on December 13, stands in stark contrast to the circumstances of her death. The 26-year-old content creator, who had amassed 682,000 followers, shared a video captioned "Just a girl on the beach with endless giggles and her gown," reflecting her characteristic positivity that had earned her the moniker 'Jammu Ki Dhadkan.'

Police Investigation and Family Statement

Gurugram police found Singh hanging in her rented accommodation in Sector 47. Inspector Sunil Kumar, SHO of Sadar police station, confirmed that the postmortem report indicated hanging as the cause of death. The family provided a written statement acknowledging that she had been troubled recently and explicitly requested no further investigation, leading authorities to close the case.

Public Response and Growing Concerns

Singh's followers have taken to social media platforms, particularly Instagram, expressing disbelief and calling for a more thorough investigation. Many point to her consistent online presence and positive demeanor as inconsistent with someone contemplating suicide. Comments on her last post reflect skepticism, with followers noting the absence of a suicide note and questioning the rapid conclusion of the investigation.

The young influencer had successfully transitioned from her career as a radio jockey to become a freelance content creator with a thriving YouTube channel. Her death has not only left her substantial following in shock but has also raised questions about the pressures faced by social media personalities behind their curated online presence.
