In a shocking turn of events, violent shooting incident took place in Kheri Lakha Singh village in Radaur town in Yamuna Nagar district. On Thursday morning, a group of identified gunmen killed two people and critically injured third. The incident appears to be a targeted attack, potentially linked to liquor trade disputes.
The incident occurred around 8 o' clock in the morning when the victims Pankaj Malik from UP and Virender from Golini village in Yamuna Nagar were leaving their gym as they approached their car 4 to 5 armed men arrived on motorcycle and open opened fire on them. Both Pankaj and Virender were killed on the spot with the attackers ensuring their deaths through continuous gunfire.
The third victim Arjun from Unheri village managed to escape the attack, but he was followed to the private medical facility and was shot there. He was left critically injured and since then transferred to PGI Chandigarh for advanced medical care.
Yamuna Nagar SP Rajiv Deswal along with other officials has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The CCTV footage is being examined to identify the gunmen, and the case has been registered at Radaur Police Station based on a complaint filed by Narendra Singh, a relative of the victim Virender.
Outcome of the initial police investigation suggests that the attack might be connected to dispute over liquor vends in the area. The involvement of organized crime gangs is also being investigated given the violent nature of the attack and the pursuance of the victim to the hospital.
The law enforcement agency has formed a special team to track down the perpetrators and investigate thorough dimension of this violent incident.
