International Gita Mahotsav Attracts Overwhelming Digital Participation

The International Gita Mahotsav has achieved commendable digital success by connecting with over 1.06 crore people worldwide through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). International Gita Mahotsav running from November 28 to December 15, has highlighted the power of digital platforms in spreading cultural awareness. 

According to Upendra Sighal, secretary of the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), the Mahotsav's official website attracted an extraordinary response. Around 17 lakh people visited the official site and downloading videos and capturing the event's essence. An impressive 31 lakh people downloaded photographs to preserve memories of this grand celebration.

The online engagement of the event have transcended geographical boundaries and attracted audience from countries including the United States, Poland, Canada, Japan, Australia, England, Germany, Israel, and Tanzania. The United States stands at top in foriegn audiences with 68,244 users while Indians showed strong domestic interest with 260,359 users and 12,75,323 site visits.

Artisans and performers were grateful for the support of the audience at such international-level platforms that not only gave them the opportunity to showcase their crafts but also provide them economic opportunities and help sustain traditional art forms. 

Beyond the digital platforms the physical event at Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra has been a spectacle of cultural richness. Folk artists from across the country have performed their traditional music and dance, using different instruments like bean, drum, and flute. 

Visitors have enthusiastically participated in the event, dancing to the rhythms of nagada and dhol along with the artists, creating an atmosphere of joy and cultural celebration.
