Anshul Kamboj's remarkable journey began on the streets of Fazilpur village, where he started playing cricket at age eight. His father, Udham Singh, a farmer, showed unwavering support by driving him 20 kilometers daily to Karnal for cricket practice. The family's dedication went further when they relocated to Karnal five years ago to support Anshul's cricketing dreams.
Record-Breaking Performance
In a spectacular display of pace bowling at Rohtak, Kamboj dismantled Kerala's batting lineup with figures of 10/49 in 30.1 overs. His achievement puts him in an elite group of cricketers, including legendary spinner Anil Kumble. Despite not being an express pace bowler, Kamboj's success comes from his ability to move the ball both ways and maintain precise line and length.
Rising Star in Indian Cricket
The past year has been particularly successful for Kamboj. After making his First-Class debut in 2022, he has claimed 57 wickets in just 19 games. His recent achievements include taking 17 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, representing India Emerging team in the T20 Asia Cup, and securing a contract with Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
Family Support and Future Aspirations
Currently pursuing his final year of graduation, Kamboj credits his success to his family's support and the Haryana Cricket Association's guidance. His mother Pinki and brother Sanyam share in the family's pride, while his father continues to support his dream of representing India internationally.
