Slim Victory Margin Raises Questions

Speaking in the Assembly, Hooda revealed that despite BJP's celebration of a "big majority," the actual vote difference between Congress and BJP was just 0.85%. "It is a 'loktantra' (democracy), but in reality, it is 'tantra' (system) that has won," Hooda stated, questioning the true nature of BJP's mandate.

Massive Recruitment Scams Under BJP Rule

Hooda exposed serious corruption allegations, including 19 paper leak scandals during BJP's tenure. He highlighted the arrest of Haryana Public Service Commission's Deputy Secretary with ₹90 lakh, later leading to a ₹3 crore recovery. The former CM pointed out that every recruitment, from HCS to Group D positions, faced corruption allegations under BJP governance.

Vacancy Crisis in Government Departments

The Congress leader painted a grim picture of public services, revealing nearly 50,000 vacant positions in the Education Department alone, with total vacancies across departments exceeding 2 lakh. He emphasized that schools lack teachers, hospitals are short of doctors, and government departments are understaffed.

Congress's Development Legacy

Defending his party's track record, Hooda listed major achievements during Congress rule (2005-2014):

  • Establishment of six medical colleges
  • Creation of AIIMS and National Cancer Institute
  • Development of six Industrial Model Townships
  • Installation of five power plants
  • Extension of metro services to four cities
  • Setting up of multiple educational institutions
