Anil Vij's Stringent Measures in the Police Department

Home Minister Anil Vij

In a recent development, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has taken strict actions within the police department, sparking controversy and discussions. Notably, he ordered the suspension of 372 investigating officers and introduced new directives reshaping the investigative process.

Exclusive Investigation by DSPs from Different Zones

Anil Vij has mandated that any complaint he sends should only be investigated by officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) or higher. Additionally, the assigned DSP must belong to a different zone, ensuring impartiality and avoiding potential conflicts of interest. This move aims to address issues of negligence and ensure unbiased investigations.

Three-Month Resolution Deadline for Complaints

Highlighting his commitment to swift justice, Anil Vij instructed officers to resolve complaints within a stringent three-month timeframe. This directive underscores the urgency he places on addressing public grievances and maintaining accountability within the police force.

Historical Perspective on Central Government's Laws

Commenting on the recent legal reforms introduced by the Central Government, Anil Vij provided a historical context, suggesting that these laws originated during the British colonial era. According to him, the British enacted laws to serve their interests, and over time, these laws became part of India's legal framework. He expressed approval for the new legislation, emphasizing their alignment with India's interests.

Janata Darbar Continues Despite Changes

While discussing the status of the Janata Darbar (public meeting), Anil Vij affirmed his commitment to listening to the public's grievances. Despite the closure of the Janata Darbar, he acknowledged the ongoing influx of complaints and maintained that it is essential for the government to be receptive to the people's concerns.

Multi-faceted Nature of Complaints

Addressing the nature of complaints, Anil Vij acknowledged that a significant portion pertains to the police department due to its prominence. However, he clarified that complaints from other departments also reach him and are actively resolved.

Political Opposition and Parliamentary Dynamics

Responding to criticism from the political opposition, Anil Vij accused them of avoiding substantive discussions within the Parliament. He asserted that making noise is not a substitute for constructive dialogue and emphasised the importance of raising issues through proper parliamentary procedures.
