In a telling display of faith and tradition following her first political contest, celebrated wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat has embarked on a spiritual journey to Salasar Dham in Rajasthan's Churu district. The visit comes immediately after a rigorous election campaign in the Julana constituency, where she made her political debut.
According to her father-in-law Rajpal Rathee, the decision to visit the religious site reflects Phogat's need for spiritual solace after an intensive campaign period. "The entire family and campaign team worked tirelessly throughout the election process," Rathee stated, while monitoring the strongroom containing EVMs at the Jind district headquarters.
The campaign's reach and intensity were remarkable, with Phogat successfully covering all 73 villages in her constituency. She demonstrated exceptional commitment by visiting approximately 30 villages on polling day alone. Campaign team members praised her composure despite constant media attention, noting her ability to manage numerous interview requests from national media outlets.
Before heading to Salasar Dham, Phogat made a personal stop at her native Balali village in Charkhi Dadri to meet her mother, underlining the importance of family connections even amid political responsibilities. She is expected to return to her residence in Khera Bakhta village, Julana, the following day.
Her father-in-law expressed strong optimism about the election outcome, predicting a comfortable victory margin potentially exceeding 30,000 votes. This confidence stems from the comprehensive campaign strategy and the positive response received from voters across the constituency.
Campaign team members particularly highlighted Phogat's ability to maintain her composure while handling the dual pressures of being both a renowned athlete and a first-time political candidate. Her systematic approach to constituency coverage and voter outreach has set a new standard for electoral campaigns in the region.
