Haryana Youth Packed in US Rooms Due to No Jobs at Home: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader criticizes BJP government, promises job creation and economic support for women and farmers during campaign rally in Assandh.

Rahul Gandhi at Assandh Rally in Karnal district

In a fiery campaign speech at Assandh in Karnal district, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence that his party would sweep the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections scheduled for October 5. Gandhi's address focused on criticizing the BJP government's policies while promising job creation and economic support for various segments of society.

Congress Set to "Sweep" Haryana Elections

"The Congress is going to sweep the Haryana elections. A storm is coming and we will form the government for all," Gandhi declared to a cheering crowd. He accused the BJP of "destroying" Haryana and blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rising unemployment crisis in the country.

Youth Exodus: A Sign of Failed Policies

Gandhi shared stories from his recent visit to the United States, where he met young people from Haryana who had left their home state in search of better opportunities. He recounted how many of these youths were living in cramped conditions, with "15 to 20 Haryana youths staying in one room in Dallas, Texas."

The Congress leader explained that these young people had taken perilous journeys through countries like Kazakhstan and Turkey, often falling victim to exploitation by human traffickers. "One of them said it required at least Rs 35 lakh to reach the US," Gandhi noted, adding that many had borrowed money or sold their farmland to finance the trip.

Promises of Economic Support and Job Creation

If elected, Gandhi promised that the Congress would provide significant economic support to various groups:

1. Rs 2,000 per month to women

2. Reduction of cooking gas prices to Rs 500

3. Filling of two lakh vacancies in government departments

4. Guaranteed minimum support prices for farmers

"This fight is not for Haryana. It is a fight for the country. It is a fight to save the Constitution," Gandhi declared, framing the upcoming election as a crucial moment for the state and the nation

Criticism of BJP's Economic Policies

Gandhi didn't hold back in his criticism of the BJP government's economic policies. He accused them of implementing a "wrong" GST regime that harmed small businesses, alleging that "some 10-15 people want to sell Chinese products in India."

He also touched on the farmers' protests, recalling the backlash against the three contentious farm laws that were eventually repealed in November 2021. "They tried to snatch from farmers whatever they had," Gandhi said.

As the Haryana Assembly elections draw near, Gandhi's speech in Assandh sets the tone for what promises to be a heated campaign season. With both the Congress and BJP making bold claims and promises, the people of Haryana will soon have their say at the ballot box.
