In a series of rallies across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Congress party while drumming up support for BJP candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at events in Narwana and Sonepat, Adityanath accused the opposition of employing divisive tactics and neglecting the legacy of Dr. BR Ambedkar, while praising the BJP's development-focused agenda.
Congress Accused of Divide and Rule
Addressing a gathering in Jind's Narwana constituency, Adityanath alleged that the Congress had historically worked to divide society along caste and communal lines. "The Congress has insulted Baba Saheb Ambedkar," he claimed, stating that the party had orchestrated Ambedkar's electoral defeat and failed to develop memorials at places associated with the Constitution's architect.
In contrast, Adityanath highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to honor Ambedkar's legacy, including the conversion of his residence into a memorial. The UP Chief Minister accused the Congress of oppressing Scheduled Castes whenever it held power, urging voters to reject such divisive politics.
BJP's Development Agenda Praised
Adityanath emphasized the BJP's commitment to inclusive growth, citing PM Modi's slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with all, Development for all). He pointed to significant achievements under BJP rule, including the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the implementation of various welfare schemes.
The CM also praised the transformation of Haryana under BJP governance, stating, "Haryana is no longer a centre of nepotism and corruption, but has become a centre of development." He commended the work of current and former Haryana Chief Ministers Nayab Singh Saini and Manohar Lal Khattar in driving the state's progress.
Criticism of Opposition Leadership
Adityanath didn't spare Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his address, accusing him of questioning constitutional institutions during foreign visits and insulting Indian traditions. The UP Chief Minister alleged that Gandhi's behavior abroad amounted to criticism of India itself, urging voters to reject such leadership.
Call for Unity and Progress
Throughout his speeches, Adityanath stressed the importance of overcoming societal divisions to achieve national progress. He presented the upcoming Assembly elections as a battle to advance PM Modi's vision of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" (One India, Great India), calling on voters to support BJP candidates and continue the state's transformation.
