In a disturbing turn of events, political campaigning in Haryana's Kaithal district has taken a violent turn. The incident unfolded in the Guhla assembly constituency, where former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala was rallying for votes on behalf of Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate Krishna Kumar Banjigar.

The trouble began when local wrestler Gurmukh confronted Chautala about issues related to sports development in the area. This confrontation, which was captured on video and has since gone viral, apparently led to the cancellation of some of Chautala's scheduled events in the region.

According to Gurmukh, the situation escalated dramatically the following day. He claims that around 10 PM, as he was leaving his wrestling arena after dinner, he received a call from a JJP worker asking to meet. Unsuspecting of any foul play, Gurmukh and his nephew agreed to the meeting.

However, what was expected to be a normal conversation quickly turned violent. Gurmukh alleges that JJP supporters, armed with sticks, axes, and swords, attacked him and his companions. The assault resulted in injuries to three young men, who are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Gurmukh has directly accused Dushyant Chautala of being behind the attack, claiming that he overheard people saying they would "deal with him outside" following their initial confrontation. The wrestler believes this was a premeditated act of retaliation for his public criticism of Chautala.

Local authorities have confirmed that the alleged attackers were from Hari Garh village, the same location where the initial confrontation took place. The police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made at the time of reporting.

This violent episode has cast a shadow over the electoral process in the region, raising serious questions about the safety of citizens who voice their concerns to political leaders. It also highlights the ongoing tensions between politicians and local communities, particularly when it comes to issues like sports development, which are crucial for youth empowerment in the state.

As the story continues to develop, The Haryana Story will provide updates on the investigation and any official responses from the JJP or Dushyant Chautala's office. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Indian democracy at the grassroots level, where the line between political campaigning and intimidation can sometimes blur.
