The Haryana Story brings you a heartwarming account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent meeting with India's Paralympic heroes. Among them was Navdeep Singh, a gold medalist from Haryana's Panipat district, who captured the nation's attention with his outstanding performance in javelin throw.

Navdeep, who competed in the F41 category, secured a gold medal with a throw of 47.32 meters in the Paris Paralympics 2024. This victory was especially sweet for the athlete who had finished fourth in the previous games.

During the meeting, a touching moment occurred that has since gone viral. Navdeep, who is of short stature, wanted to present the Prime Minister with a cap. Recognizing the height difference, PM Modi surprised everyone by sitting down on the floor. This simple act allowed Navdeep to easily place the cap on the Prime Minister's head.

"Look, now you appear taller than me," Modi said with a smile, making Navdeep feel at ease.

The Prime Minister also engaged in friendly conversation with the athlete. He asked Navdeep about a video that had circulated showing the para-athlete's intense celebration after winning the gold medal. "Did you see your video? Everyone gets scared," Modi joked, referring to Navdeep's passionate reaction. The athlete laughed and explained it was just the excitement of the moment. In another gesture of appreciation, Modi signed an autograph on Navdeep's throwing arm at the athlete's request.

This interaction highlights the government's recognition of para-athletes and their achievements. It also showcases the personal touch Prime Minister Modi often brings to such meetings, helping to boost the morale of sportspersons who have brought glory to the nation.

Navdeep Singh's journey from Buana Lakhu village in Panipat to becoming a Paralympic gold medalist is an inspiring tale of determination and success. His meeting with the Prime Minister serves as a proud moment not just for Haryana, but for the entire country.
