The BJP is facing a rebellion in Haryana after the party announced its candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. Several leaders, including former minister Kavita Jain, have broken down in tears and protested against the party's decision.
Kavita Jain, who was denied a ticket, gave a 2-day ultimatum to the party to change its candidate. Her supporters protested against the BJP and shouted slogans against CM Khattar.
Similar rebellions are being seen across Haryana, with candidates who were expecting tickets but didn't get them, resigning and showing disregard for the party. Savitri Jindal, who was denied a ticket from Hisar, has announced that she will contest the elections independently.
Other leaders who have resigned from the party include former minister Bishamber Valmiki, Kisan Morcha president Shyoran, OBC Morcha president Karnadev Kamboj, Ratiya MLA Lakshman Napa, Shamsher Gill, and Mahamandaleshwar Darshan Giri Maharaj. Pandit GL Sharma has also joined Deepender Hooda's camp in Gurugram.
The resignations and rebellions suggest deep-seated discontent within the party's Haryana unit, which could potentially harm the party's prospects in the upcoming elections.
