Two BJP leaders in Hisar, Haryana, have received notices from the local Returning Officer (RO) for allegedly trying to influence voters at a religious event. The incident took place at the Bishnoi temple during Janmashtami celebrations.
Cabinet Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta and Dudaram Bishnoi, the MLA from Fatehabad, were given notices by Hisar RO Jagdeep Dhanda. The RO asked them to explain their actions within a few hours.
The election official said in the notice that on August 26, the Health Minister of Haryana and the MLA spread their election agenda at a religious event in the Bishnoi temple. They tried to attract voters in a way that is not allowed.
The RO took action on his own after learning about this. He said that election campaigns are not allowed at religious events.
The Janmashtami event at the Bishnoi temple was big. It was the 574th birth anniversary of Guru Jambheshwar Bhagwan. The program started in the morning with a fire ceremony. Then, there was a flag-raising event. The celebrations went on until late at night.
Many important BJP leaders were at the event. The Chief Minister, Nayab Saini, was the main guest. Former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi led the program. Other leaders like Vinod Bhayana (MLA from Hansi), Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa, and former MP Sunita Duggal were also there.
The original plan was for only Kuldeep Bishnoi and CM Nayab Saini to speak. But Dudaram, Savitri Jindal, and Dr. Kamal Gupta also got a chance to talk.
The Haryana Story is closely watching this case. It shows how careful politicians need to be during election time, even at religious events. The Election Commission takes these matters seriously to ensure fair voting.
This incident has caused a stir in local political circles. People are waiting to see what the BJP leaders will say in their explanation to the Returning Officer. The outcome of this case could impact how politicians behave at public events during election season.
