In a bold move that could reshape Haryana's political scene, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its plans to contest all 90 seats in the upcoming state Assembly elections. This declaration, made by senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, signals the party's ambition to expand its influence beyond Delhi and Punjab.

AAP's Grand Strategy for Haryana

During a press conference in Chandigarh, Singh, flanked by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and senior party leader Sandeep Pathak, unveiled AAP's strategy for Haryana. The party aims to fight the elections with full force, offering a fresh alternative to the people of Haryana.

Targeting BJP's Governance

Singh didn't hold back in his criticism of the current BJP government in Haryana. He highlighted several key issues plaguing the state, including unemployment and deteriorating law and order. The AAP leader also strongly opposed the Agnipath scheme, describing it as an "insult to the Army."

Promise of Change

CM Mann added that during their visits to various parts of Haryana, including Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jind, they encountered a strong desire for change among the people. He accused both the Congress and BJP, as well as regional parties, of having "looted" the state during their respective tenures.

The party's campaign slogan, "Badlenge Haryana Ka Haal, Ab Layenge Kejriwal" (We will change Haryana's condition, now we'll bring Kejriwal), encapsulates their promise of transformative governance. This slogan draws on the popularity of AAP's national convenor and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting a similar model of governance for Haryana.

As the political temperature rises in Haryana, AAP's entry as a strong contender promises to make the upcoming assembly elections a closely watched and potentially game-changing event in the state's political history. The party's focus on issues like education, healthcare, and anti-corruption measures, which have been their hallmarks in other states, is likely to form the core of their campaign in Haryana as well.
