In a big political move, 14 important leaders from the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) in Panipat have decided to leave their party and join the Congress. This happened just before the upcoming Haryana state elections. The group includes well-known names like Suresh Mittal, Narendra Sura, Advocate Surendra Sura, Sunil Gupta, Neeraj Singla, CA Ankur Bansal, Ganga Gupta, Mahendra Jaglan, Rajesh Tayal, Sunil Baveja, Sohanlal Garg, Pappi Juneja, and Raj Singh Malik.
These leaders joined the Congress in Delhi. They were welcomed by former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Two local Congress leaders, Virender "Bulle" Shah and Ashok Arora, helped bring these new members into the party. Hooda, who is now the leader of the opposition in Haryana, put a special scarf (patka) on each new member to welcome them to the Congress.
After joining, the new members said they were impressed by Congress policies. They believe that joining Congress is the right move for them. This change is seen as a big loss for the JJP and a gain for Congress. It shows that political loyalties are shifting as the state gets ready for elections. The Congress hopes that these new members will help them win more support in Panipat and nearby areas.
