Ruling Party Leaders Scramble to Expedite Development Works, Woo Voters Ahead of Assembly Polls.

The recent drubbing received by the ruling party in the Lok Sabha elections seems to have jolted Haryana's ministers and MLAs into action. Faced with the prospect of upcoming Assembly elections, these elected representatives are leaving no stone unturned to spruce up the official machinery and ensure the timely completion of development projects that had been stalled due to the election process.

Leading the charge is Cabinet Minister Mool Chand Sharma, who holds the portfolios of Industry, Commerce, and Labor Department. Over the past two days, Sharma has convened multiple meetings with officials from various departments, issuing directives to expedite development works across the state.

In one such meeting, Sharma emphasized the importance of safety provisions in industries with boilers, urging officials to prioritise the security of workers and employees. He also warned against any delays or slackness in completing ongoing projects, signaling a no-nonsense approach to development initiatives.

Sharma's proactive stance is being echoed by other ruling party MLAs, who have been holding meetings and preparing strategies to closely monitor the progress of various projects in their respective constituencies. Rajesh Nagar, the BJP MLA from Tigaon Assembly segment, recently convened a meeting with power department officials, instructing them to ensure adequate and regular power supply to the area.

Nagar is reported to have issued stern warnings against any complacency in addressing the complaints and grievances of residents, indicating that the ruling party is keen to address public concerns ahead of the crucial Assembly elections.

The distribution of allotment letters for 100 square yard residential plots to 172 beneficiaries in Palwal on Monday further underscores the ruling party's efforts to woo voters. The event, attended by at least three MLAs and a Cabinet Minister, is seen by political observers as a strategic move to dole out incentives aimed at securing electoral support.

"The string of meetings, frequent reviews, and tough stance towards the official machinery are likely to rise as the ministers or the MLAs don't want any issue that could generate resentment among masses before the elections," says Mahender Singh, a political analyst. Singh further suggests that the ruling party may be aware of the anti-incumbency factor and the unrest that led to a considerable decline in the winning margin of the local BJP candidate in the recent Lok Sabha polls.

Rajkumar Vohra, the BJP district president, has assured that the government and its machinery will leave no stone unturned to ensure the completion of all development projects, redress grievances, and make up for any delays or losses suffered due to the election process.

As the political battle in Haryana intensifies, the ruling party's ministers and MLAs are evidently determined to regain the trust of voters through accelerated development initiatives and a renewed focus on addressing public concerns. Their concerted efforts suggest that the upcoming Assembly elections will be a closely contested affair.
