In a hard-hitting press conference, former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda launched a scathing attack on the BJP's 10-year rule in the state, labelling it as a period marred by "hate and negativity." Hooda's comments came in the wake of the recent Lok Sabha election results, which saw the BJP's tally in Haryana dwindle to just 9 out of 10 seats.

Hooda, the Leader of Opposition, accused the BJP of suppressing dissent and targeting various sections of society, including farmers, sarpanches (village heads), women wrestlers, and Anganwadi and ASHA workers. He claimed that the BJP government had resorted to violence, propaganda, and online portals to quell protests and silence critics.

"Farmers witnessed iron nails being dug on roads to stop their movement. They went through the entire summer and winter on the road during their agitation. They were called terrorists. Sarpanches were beaten up. Women wrestlers didn't get justice. Asha and Anganwadi workers faced lathicharge. This government represents police, propaganda, and portals (websites)," Hooda said.

Highlighting the state's dismal performance under the BJP's rule, Hooda asserted that Haryana had slipped on all development indices over the past decade. He pointed out the high unemployment rate, rising crime, and mounting debt burden as major concerns plaguing the state.

Referring to the recent distribution of possession certificates under the 'Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojana' by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's government, Hooda claimed that it was the Congress party's scheme, which the BJP had initially scrapped after coming to power.

Buoyed by the INDIA bloc's (Congress and AAP) combined vote share of 47.61 percent, marginally higher than the BJP's 46.11 percent, Hooda predicted a resounding victory for the opposition alliance in the upcoming Assembly elections. He claimed that the INDIA bloc was leading in 46 Assembly segments, while the BJP trailed in 44.

"BJP Lok Sabha mein half, Vidhan Sabha mein saaf (BJP is reduced to half in the Lok Sabha polls, and will be wiped out in the state polls)," Hooda declared, exuding confidence in the opposition's chances. While refraining from speculating on the exact number of seats the Congress would win, Hooda asserted that the contest would be primarily between the BJP and the Congress, dismissing the prospects of other parties like the JJP and INLD.

Hooda also claimed that the BJP government lacked a majority and urged the Governor to dissolve the Assembly to prevent potential horse-trading. He vowed to approach the Governor again with the same demand. As the political battle in Haryana intensifies, Hooda's scathing criticism of the BJP's "hate and negativity" has set the stage for a high-stakes electoral contest, with both sides gearing up for a fierce campaign in the run-up to the Assembly polls.
