A Dynastic Start in Ahirwal 

Rao Inderjit Singh's political journey began in 1977 when he was fielded from the Jatusana Assembly constituency (now Kosli), the traditional seat of his father Rao Birender Singh. As the political heir of his family, Rao Inderjit quickly established a stronghold in the Ahirwal region, maintaining a firm grip on the area's electorate. 

Scaling the State and National Ladder 

Over the years, Rao Inderjit Singh has proven his potential as a formidable leader. He remained a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly four times, from 1977 to 1982, 1982 to 1987, 1991 to 1996, and 2000 to 2004. During his tenure in the state government, he held crucial portfolios, including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Planning, Food, and Civil Supplies from 1986 to 1987, and Cabinet Minister positions handling departments like Environment and Forest, and Medical and Technical Education from 1991 to 1996. 

The Lok Sabha Journey Begins

In 1998, Rao Inderjit Singh's father, Rao Birender Singh, paved the way for his son's entry into national politics by fielding him as the Lok Sabha candidate from the Mahendragarh constituency. Rao Inderjit won the election and became a member of the 12th Lok Sabha, marking the beginning of his parliamentary journey. 

Weathering Setbacks and Soaring High

Although his initial stint in the Lok Sabha was short-lived due to a defeat in the 1999 elections, Rao Inderjit Singh bounced back in 2004, winning the Mahendragarh seat once again. Since then, he has never looked back, securing consecutive victories in the Lok Sabha elections and becoming the first Haryana politician to reach Parliament for an impressive six terms.

Achieving Milestones and Serving the Nation

Rao Inderjit Singh's unwavering dedication and strong connection with the people of Haryana have propelled him to achieve remarkable milestones. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he secured the highest number of votes in the state, setting a new record. His induction into the Modi Council of Ministers for the third consecutive term as a Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) is a testament to his invaluable contributions and the trust reposed in him by the leadership. 

With a wealth of experience spanning four decades, Rao Inderjit Singh's political journey has been nothing short of remarkable. From his roots in the Ahirwal region to his rise in the national stage, the veteran Ahir leader has left an indelible mark on Haryana's political landscape.
