The political landscape in Haryana has taken a contentious turn as the Chief Minister and former Chief Minister have expressed discontent with the state bureaucracy. They have leveled allegations against officials for displaying partisanship during the Lok Sabha elections and have warned of stern action if malpractices are proven. The rising tensions have sent ripples through the administrative ranks, with both leaders vowing to address the concerns after the elections.

Allegations of Aiding Opposition and Ignoring Crucial Inputs

The Chief Minister and former Chief Minister have accused certain officials of aiding opposition parties, particularly the Congress and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), during the Lok Sabha polls. They claim to have received inputs suggesting that some bureaucrats actively assisted rival parties, casting doubts on their neutrality.

Additionally, the leaders have expressed displeasure over the failure of intelligence agencies to provide timely inputs regarding the defection of three independent MLAs who withdrew support from the government to align with the Congress. This oversight has purportedly left the ruling dispensation in a precarious position, forcing it to brace for potential floor tests.

Negative Attitude Towards Supporters Alleged

Another point of contention raised by the leaders is the alleged negative attitude displayed by officials towards BJP workers and the general public during the election campaign. They claim that this conduct often created uncomfortable situations and hampered the party's efforts. Instructions have been issued to file written complaints against such officials, with the government promising to seek explanations after June 4th.

Stern Warnings and Threats of Action

The Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, has issued a stern warning, stating that the government will not tolerate any highhandedness from officials. He has demanded a list of officers who indulged in partisan behavior during the elections, indicating that action will be taken against them after June 4th, once the Model Code of Conduct is lifted.

Khattar's predecessor, Manohar Lal Khattar, had also cautioned officials during the election campaign, saying, "Today is your time, but our time will come after June 4th," hinting at potential repercussions for those found guilty of wrongdoing.

Bogus Voting Allegations and Probe Orders

Adding to the controversy, Khattar has also expressed outrage over reports of bogus voting from districts like Rohtak and Sirsa. Terming the issue as "very serious," he has ordered an investigation into the matter and warned that any officials found complicit in such practices will face termination from service.

Administrative Unease and Promises of Reforms

The allegations and warnings have undoubtedly caused unease within the bureaucratic ranks. In a bid to assuage concerns, the leaders have promised reforms and changes in the functioning of village councils (panchayats) to address grievances. As the dust settles on the Lok Sabha elections, it remains to be seen how the government will address the simmering tensions with the bureaucracy. The coming days could witness a showdown, with officials facing the prospect of stern action should the allegations prove true.
