The BJP candidate for the Sirsa Lok Sabha seat, Ashok Tanwar, officially entered the electoral field on Friday. He filed his nomination papers at the Mini-Secretariat in Sirsa, accompanied by a strong contingent of party leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The presence of Saini and other prominent figures highlighted the BJP's resolve to retain the Sirsa constituency.

Joining Tanwar during the nomination filing were BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Power Minister Ranjit Singh Chautala, Sirsa MLA Gopal Kanda, BJP leader Subhash Barala, and Fatehabad MLA Dura Ram. The event turned into a show of strength for the party, with leaders from across the state converging to lend their support to Tanwar's candidacy.

However, the proceedings were not without a minor controversy. While only five individuals, including the candidate, were allowed inside the Returning Officer's room, CM Saini and 12 others defied the norm and entered the room. Election officials had to intervene, eventually permitting Tanwar, Saini, Dura Ram, Kanda, and Ranjit Singh to accompany the candidate during the filing process.

After submitting his nomination, Tanwar and the accompanying leaders addressed the media. CM Saini took the opportunity to launch a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labelling him a "liar" and criticising his promises to waive farm loans and eradicate poverty during previous elections. Saini questioned Gandhi's ability to deliver on such ambitious pledges.

In another nomination filing, the BJP's sitting MP for Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Dharambir Singh, submitted his papers in Narnaul. He was joined by Irrigation Minister Abhe Singh Yadav and former Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma. However, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, who has been supporting Dharambir Singh, was absent due to his own campaign commitments in Gurgaon.

As the BJP candidates officially entered the fray, the battle lines were drawn in Haryana. The party's display of unity and high-profile support sent a clear message about its determination to win key seats in the state. However, potential tensions within the party ranks could also play a role as the electoral contest intensifies in the coming weeks.
