Know Your Minister - Krishan Lal Panwar - From Boiler Diploma to Cabinet

A Boiler Competency Diploma Holder Who Rose from Madlauda to Become Key Minister in Saini's Cabinet; Now Leads Crucial Development & Panchayat and Mines & Geology Portfolios.

Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar

Krishan Lal Panwar was born on January 1, 1958, in Madlauda, Panipat, to Lakhmi Chand Panwar and Bharto Devi. Panwar completed his matriculation from Madlauda and later pursued Diploma in Boiler Competency from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Minister Krishan is married to Hoshiari Devi, a retired Deputy Superintendent from Education Department and he is a father to two sons and a daughter. 

Political Journey 

Panwar joined politics in 1991 by winning his first election from Assandh Constituency on a Janata Party ticket. He won again in 1996 under the banner of Samajwadi Janata Party which shows his flexibility in political arena. Krishan Lal Panwar faced setback in 2005 when he joined INLD but again bounced back in 2009 by winning from Israna constituency. In 2014, Panwar joined BJP and retained his seat and become Transport, Housing, and Jails Minister (2015-2019).

BJP nominated Panwar to Rajya Sabha in 2022 and during his tenure in the upper house, he served on several important committees including Agriculture, Energy, and the Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. He resigned from his role of Rajya Sabha member in 2024 after his victory from Israna seat in Haryana Assembly elections.

Current Responsibilities and Vision

As the Cabinet Minister for Development & Panchayat and Mines & Geology in the Nayab Singh Saini government, Panwar brings his extensive administrative experience to crucial portfolios. His focus areas include strengthening rural infrastructure, modernizing panchayat systems and promote sustainable mining practices. Panwar laid his main focus on rural employment generation and Sports development as he has also serves as the Chairman of Kabaddi Association and Haryana Olympic Sangh.  

Beyond Politics

Despite his political achievements, Panwar maintains strong connections with social causes. As Chairman of both the Kabaddi Association and Haryana Olympic Sangh, he actively promotes sports in the state. His interests extend to public interaction and staying informed about current affairs, making him accessible to his constituents. 

Future Vision

In his current role, Panwar focuses on rural development and efficient resource management. His experience in multiple administrative roles, combined with his understanding of both state and national politics, positions him uniquely to drive Haryana's development agenda forward.
