In Haryana, Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal announced that the notification for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections will be issued on April 29. Nominations can be filed until May 6, with strict guidelines in place to ensure a fair process. Aggarwal emphasised that public notices will be issued in English and the state's official language, prominently displayed in various public offices. Nomination papers can be submitted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at designated offices.

Candidates are allowed a maximum of three vehicles within 100 metres of the Returning Officer's office, with only five individuals, including the candidate, permitted inside. Any violation will be scrutinised by the Commission, with actions taken against responsible parties.

The nomination process will be extensively videographed, particularly during the final hour of filing nominations. Aggarwal stressed the importance of safekeeping all documentation by the Returning Officer. Candidates contesting under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, are required to deposit security, with amounts varying for Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The deposit must be made in cash before the Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer, with no acceptances of checks or bank drafts.

For recognized political parties, one proposer is required, while all other candidates need ten proposers, who must be electors of the constituency. Aggarwal urged strict adherence to these guidelines to ensure a smooth nomination process.
