In the wake of the coming Lok Sabha elections Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Haryana unit is set to embark on a unique 'Udghosh Yatra' (Proclamation Rally) next month to embrace voter confidence and showcase the achievements of the Modi government. The highlight of this campaign will be the participation of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

The 'Udghosh Yatra' will be flagged off by Chief Minister Nayab Saini and will cover all 10 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The NRI cell of the state BJP unit will head the campaign, with NRIs from various countries participating in the transformative changes brought by the Modi government in the last decade.

"Though many NRIs are not our voters, they want to do their bit by telling fellow Indians how the Modi government has changed the country's position abroad and transformed the lives of NRIs as well. We will go about this yatra in a big campaign vehicle equipped with LED screens and audio systems. The date is yet to be finalised, but CM Saini will flag it off," said Sandeep Deswal, president of the NRI Cell BJP Haryana.

Deswal, who was speaking at a meeting of the NRI cell in Gurugram, emphasised the importance of the NRI community's contribution to the campaign, despite not being eligible voters in India. The 'Udghosh Yatra' will be led by the district convenor, co-convenor, and the entire team of the NRI Cell in each district. A large number of Haryanvi NRIs will be joining the yatra in their respective districts, sharing their personal experiences and insights.

Sartaj Singh Sekhon, the American convener for the NRI Cell, will be the key coordinator for the yatra, while other coordinators have been appointed for Canada, the United Kingdom, the American East and West Coasts, Finland, and Indonesia. The cell is also utilising social media platforms to reach out to successful Haryanvi NRIs and encourage them to join the yatra, even if virtually.

"The NRI community has a unique perspective on the Modi government's achievements, having witnessed India's transformation from a global standpoint. Their endorsement will undoubtedly resonate with voters and reinforce the government's guarantees," said a senior BJP leader involved in the campaign's planning.

The 'Udghosh Yatra' is seen as a strategic move by the BJP to leverage the influential NRI community and their experiences to garner support among voters, particularly in the run-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
