Shivansh Rathee, a young man from Kharar village of Jhajjar district in Haryana, has achieved a remarkable feat. He has secured the 63rd rank in the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination, making him one of the youngest civil servants in the country.

Rathee's Journey to Success

Rathee has been preparing for the UPSC exam for the past few years. In his third attempt, his hard work and dedication paid off, and he managed to secure a place among the top 70 candidates. Rathee shared that he was praying to Lord Shiva when the results were announced, and his wish was finally granted.

Balancing Work and Preparation

Rathee's success story is even more impressive because he was already serving as a Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi while preparing for the UPSC exam. He dedicated 10 hours daily to his preparation until mains, combining it with regular meditation of Lord Shiva for inspiration. After his initial selection in the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Island Civil Services last year, Rathee spent an additional 4 to 5 hours preparing for the interview round.

Supportive Family and Academic Excellence

Rathee's success is a testament to the unwavering support of his family. His grandfather's encouragement, the guidance of his two bureaucrat uncles (one in the IAS and the other in the IRS), and the wisdom of his mother, who teaches at a government college, all played a crucial role in his achievement. Rathee's father, Ravindra Rathee, who runs a real estate business, had also dreamed of becoming an IAS officer, and Rathee's success has fulfilled this dream.

Rathee's academic journey has been marked by excellence, from his schooling in Jhajjar to his English Honours degree from Hansraj College, Delhi University. He credits his success to self-study, stating that it helped him more than coaching classes would have.
