Karnal, Haryana - Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU) in Karnal has been honoured with the prestigious Best Horticulture University Award nationwide. This recognition was given to the university by the 'Krishi Vyapaar Shikhar Sammelan and Puraskar' in Hyderabad, acknowledging MHU's remarkable contributions to the field of horticulture.

The university spokesperson shared that MHU has been actively engaged in important research on fruits, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal plants. Over the years, the university has developed many new and innovative technologies in horticulture. One of the biggest achievements has been in the area of biological microorganisms. MHU has successfully identified beneficial microbial-related bio-inputs that can be used in horticulture to produce safe and high-quality crops. These bio-inputs can reduce the need for chemical fertilisers by 20-25% in the fields.

The spokesperson emphasised that these achievements have been recognized by the 'Krishi Vyapaar Shikhar Sammelan and Puraskar Sanstha', leading to the university being awarded the Best Horticulture University title. MHU's team is continuously working to bring the latest technologies to farmers. The university's primary goal is to boost the quality of agricultural production, ultimately increasing farmers' incomes at lower costs and making them economically prosperous.

The spokesperson also noted the growing trend among farmers towards horticulture farming, which will benefit future generations. He encouraged farmers to reach out to MHU's scientists for any horticulture-related issues they may face. This recognition as the Best Horticulture University is a testament to MHU's commitment to innovation, research, and the upliftment of the agricultural community in Haryana and beyond.
