Haryana Gears Up for Lok Sabha Elections with Over 1.99 Crore Registered Voters

Chief Electoral Officer Appeals for Active Participation, Highlights Key Constituency Details

As Haryana prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Anurag Agarwal, has announced that the state has a total of 1,99,35,770 registered voters. Agarwal has appealed to these voters to actively participate in the election process scheduled for May 25. During a review meeting with department officers, Agarwal shared key details about the state's electoral landscape. The Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency has the highest number of voters, with 25,38,463 registered electors, followed by Faridabad with 24,04,733 voters. 

Other significant constituencies include Ambala with 19,82,414 voters, Kurukshetra with 17,85,273 voters, Sirsa with 19,28,529 voters, Hisar with 17,81,605 voters, Karnal with 20,92,684 voters, Sonipat with 17,57,818 voters, Rohtak with 18,80,357 voters, and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh with 17,83,894 voters.

Agarwal also highlighted the Election Commission's efforts to ensure a free and fair electoral process. He mentioned the development of the C-Vigil app, which allows citizens to register complaints related to any violations of the Model Code of Conduct. He stated that the department has addressed these complaints within 100 minutes, with a total of 1,666 complaints received, of which 1,383 were found valid, and appropriate actions were taken.

The CEO noted that the maximum number of complaints, 367, were received from the Sirsa constituency, followed by Ambala with 348 complaints. Other constituencies with a significant number of complaints include Sonipat, Hisar, Gurugram, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, and Panchkula. As Haryana gears up for the Lok Sabha elections, the CEO's appeal for active voter participation and the measures taken to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process reflect the state's commitment to strengthening its democratic foundations.
