Haryana CM Retains 14 Departments in His Portfolio; Gurjar Hold Significant Power in Cabinet Allocation

Strategic Allocation of Portfolios Shapes Governance Agenda under CM Saini's Leadership

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, 10 days after assuming office, has finalised the distribution of departments among his ministers. The allocation prominently positions Gurjar community members, with Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar holding six departments, followed by Mool Chand Sharma, JP Dalal, and Kamal Gupta with four each. Dr. Banwari Lal is assigned three departments, while Ranjit Chautala gets two. Previously, Kanwar Pal had six departments, Mool Chand had five, JP had four, Kamal Gupta had two, and Dr. Banwari Lal had one, indicating a shift in portfolio distribution. 

Significance of Allocation:

Each minister has been entrusted with at least one key department, reflecting a balanced distribution of responsibilities. Most ministers have seen changes in their portfolios, suggesting a strategic realignment of ministerial roles and priorities. 

Key Ministerial Assignments:

JP Dalal has been given charge of the Finance department, underscoring the significance of managing the state's finances. Kanwar Pal Gurjar assumes responsibility for Agriculture, highlighting the importance of agricultural policies in Haryana's governance. Mool Chand Sharma oversees Industries and Commerce, indicating a focus on economic development. Kamal Gupta takes charge of the Health department, emphasising the government's commitment to public healthcare. Dr. Banwari Lal is assigned to the Public Works Department, crucial for infrastructure development. Ranjit Chautala continues to oversee Power and Prisons, ensuring continuity in critical sectors.

Allocation to State Ministers:

State ministers are assigned two departments each, indicating their supportive roles in governance. Seema Trikha takes charge of Education, while Mahipal Dhanda is responsible for Panchayats. Aseem Goel oversees Transportation, Abhay Singh Yadav manages Irrigation, Subhash Sudha handles Urban Local Bodies, Bishamber Singh is tasked with Social Justice and Empowerment, and Sanjay Singh leads the Sports department. 

Cabinet Meeting and Agenda:

CM Nayab Singh Saini convened a Cabinet meeting at 11 am today to discuss various issues, including the procurement of Rabi crops. The meeting signifies the government's proactive approach to addressing key agricultural challenges and ensuring farmers' welfare. The allocation of departments reflects both administrative considerations and political dynamics, with a focus on effective governance and inclusive development in Haryana.
