After a clash between farmers and police in Hisar, Haryana, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Maksood Ahmad held a press conference. He revealed that in the incident, 34 police personnel were injured, along with 17 damaged vehicles. The ASP emphasised that the police did not resort to lathi charge against the farmers.

During the press conference, ASP Maksood Ahmad explained that due to Section 144 being enforced in the district, they had appealed to farmers to maintain peace and stay in one place. However, when the farmers insisted on riding their tractors towards the Khanauri border, the police attempted to stop them, leading to a confrontation.

In the ensuing clash, ASP Ahmad himself, along with 34 police personnel, sustained injuries. He stated that he did not have the exact count of injured farmers. Tear gas and water cannons were used by the police to disperse the crowd, but ASP Ahmad denied allegations of police resorting to lathi charge against the farmers.

The clash resulted in damage to 17 police vehicles. ASP Ahmad reiterated that while the police intervened to disperse the agitated crowd, they refrained from using force beyond tear gas and water cannons. The incident underscores the tense situation prevailing at the Hisar-Khanauri border amidst ongoing farmer protests.
