CM Manohar Lal Khattar undertook a visit to Panchkula's Sector-1 Khadak Mangoli on Monday, inspecting slum areas and announcing plans for housing redevelopment. Accompanied by Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and administrative officials, the CM assessed the feasibility of constructing flats for approximately 7,500 residents living in slum clusters across Rajiv Colony, Indira Colony, and Khadak Mangoli.

Khattar emphasised the need for urban planning across all cities in Haryana, ensuring housing provisions based on demographic data. The inspection also included evaluation of land adjacent to the Ghaggar River, with plans for its development intertwined with the housing initiative. Khattar underscored the importance of securing the Ghaggar River while discussing potential strategies during the meeting.

Prior to the Panchkula visit, CM Khattar also inspected flats constructed under the urban renewal scheme in Dhanaas and Maloya areas of Chandigarh. He engaged with local residents and administrative officials, highlighting the diverse models of housing provided to the beneficiaries.

Addressing the forthcoming budget, Khattar reiterated his commitment to ensuring inclusive development, particularly for the underprivileged sections of society. He emphasised the government's focus on Antyodaya and public welfare, hinting at glimpses of this vision in the upcoming budget. Khattar's visit also reflected on the political landscape, with assertions of the BJP's dominance in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Haryana.

The proposed housing initiative and riverfront development signal a concerted effort by the Haryana government towards urban rejuvenation and equitable housing solutions. With slum dwellers at the forefront of this initiative, the visit underscores the government's commitment to addressing the housing needs of marginalised communities. As Khattar's administration prepares for the upcoming budget, expectations are high for policies reflecting the ethos of inclusive growth and welfare-centric governance.
