The Aam Aadmi Party said it would "gherao" Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's Karnal home on Monday for allegedly "failing" to provide jobs for youth of the state, taking aim at the BJP-JJP alliance in Haryana on the problem of unemployment. Speaking to the media, Sushil Gupta, the president of the AAP's Haryana unit, claimed that over two lakh positions were unfilled in various government sectors and charged the Khattar administration of failing to fill these positions. Approximately 71,000 of the two lakh lakh open positions are in the education sector, 21,000 are in the police department, and 10,000 are in the transport department, according to Gupta.

According to Gupta, a lot of young people in the state are falling prey to depression and drug abuse because there aren't enough job possibilities. He claimed that because they were unable to find employment, many young people were turning to illegal means of immigration. He attacked the state government for purported corruption and job paper leaks. Gupta asserted that 3,783 young people in the state killed themselves in 2021–2022, with unemployment cited as the primary motivator.

The AAP leader attacked the Khattar administration, claiming that it was sending state youngsters to work in Israel. "As the government is not able to give jobs, it was sending 10,000 youths to war-torn Israel to work there as labourers and it was very shameful," Gupta stated. He was making reference to recent news that young people in several state districts had recently lined up for employment in Israel."The AAP supports the youth of the state. We are going to 'gherao' the chief minister's house in Karnal on February 7 as part of a state-wide protest,” he declared. While replying to a question on AAP’s election strategy for upcoming assembly elections in haryana, Gupta said, AAP will contest on all the 90 seats of the state and regarding to the Lok Sabha elections, he said, the party will take the decision in upcoming days that if it will fight the election alone or in alliance with other parties.
