Announced initiative for senior citizens, expands eco-friendly city bus services.

In a recent Jan Samvad program at a government school in Model Town, Ward 11, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal made significant announcements, reflecting on various aspects of governance and addressing concerns across different sectors.

New Initiative for Senior Citizens:

During the event, the Chief Minister unveiled a new initiative aimed at benefiting senior citizens aged 80 and above. He announced the launch of "Vridh Sewa Ashram" in every district, providing services and facilities for elderly individuals. The ashrams will be government-run, ensuring the well-being of senior citizens, including both those in need and those who can afford to stay.The Vridh Sewa Ashram promises comprehensive arrangements to cater to the needs of the elderly, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free environment. Services for financially challenged senior citizens will be provided free of cost, while those with financial means can choose to reside there as well.

City Bus Services Expansion:

CM Manohar Lal also announced the commencement of a new city bus service, expanding public transportation in Haryana. While three cities, namely Manesar, Faridabad, and Gurugram, already have existing city bus services, Panipat has recently introduced bus services, and Yamunanagar is scheduled to commence services on January 29.In a push toward eco-friendly transportation, Karnal's bus stand is preparing to launch electric buses equipped with e-services, operating without the use of traditional fuels like petrol or diesel. This move aligns with the broader goal of promoting sustainable and environmentally conscious public transportation systems. 

Jan Samvad and Bharat Sankalp Yatra:

The Chief Minister initiated the Jan Samvad program with the enthusiastic chanting of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai." Reflecting on the success of Jan Samvads conducted across approximately 1500 villages and wards in Haryana since April, CM Manohar Lal highlighted the government's commitment to engaging with the public.However, the Jan Samvad initiative faced a shift due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directive to integrate it with the Bharat Sankalp Yatra, covering all villages and wards across the nation until January 25. The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction with the 25 completed programs in Karnal's Vidhan Sabha area, acknowledging the challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccination Success and Global Recognition:

CM Manohar Lal commended the exceptional efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian scientists during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed gratitude for the swift development of indigenous vaccines, showcasing India's ability to tackle the global health crisis.Highlighting India's success in vaccine development, the Chief Minister underscored that other nations sought India's vaccines to safeguard their populations. He credited the Prime Minister for leading the nation through challenging times and emphasized the importance of unity and resilience during the pandemic.

Political Landscape and Upcoming Elections:

Responding to questions about potential participation in elections outside Karnal, CM Manohar Lal affirmed his commitment to contesting elections from Karnal itself. Regarding the NDA alliance and the inclusion of JDU, he welcomed anyone interested in joining the alliance, emphasising the unpredictability of alliances and their dynamics.The Chief Minister used poetic expressions to convey that political alliances often witness fluctuations, and those who form alliances may struggle to understand their purpose. Drawing from his experiences, he suggested that such dynamics might continue, implying the challenges and uncertainties within political coalitions.

Local Governance and Democracy:

In response to questions about upcoming local elections, CM Manohar Lal highlighted ongoing processes related to ward delimitation and other administrative tasks. He emphasised the significance of democracy, stating that every individual has the right to express their opinions and participate in public discourse. Concluding the Jan Samvad program, the Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to serving the people and engaging in dialogue with the public. The event not only showcased key announcements but also provided insights into the Chief Minister's perspectives on governance, politics, and the state's trajectory.
