Tension gripped Meham town in Haryana's Rohtak district after unidentified persons allegedly opened fire at the office of Congress MLA Balram Dangi during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The incident occurred at Dangi's office located directly opposite the Meham Police Station. Fortunately, no one was present inside the office at the time of the firing, and no injuries have been reported.

The attack came to light on Saturday morning when the office caretaker arrived and noticed that the outer glass panes had been shattered. A closer inspection revealed multiple bullet marks on the glass, indicating that several rounds had been fired at the premises.

Confirming the incident, Balram Dangi said four to five bullet marks had been found on the office windows. He added that he does not suspect anyone at this stage and has left the matter to the police investigation.

CCTV DVR Seized

After receiving information, police teams rushed to the spot and began collecting evidence. Investigators have taken possession of the CCTV DVR installed at the office and are examining footage to identify those responsible for the attack. Officials said all possible angles are being investigated and efforts are underway to trace the accused.

The incident has raised concerns given the office's location directly in front of a police station. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation and said further action will be taken based on the evidence collected from the scene and CCTV footage.
