'Rahul Gandhi Should Quit Politics, Catch Fish,' Says Anil Vij After Bihar Election Victory

Haryana minister mocks Congress leader's fishing photo-op; suggests party open 'schools for crying'

Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi & Haryana Minister Anil Vij

Haryana's Energy Minister Anil Vij sharply targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after the sweeping victory of BJP in Bihar elections and sarcastically suggested that he should abandon politics for fishing.

"Rahul Gandhi should now leave politics and start catching fish, since he jumped into a pond to catch fish during the election campaign anyway," Vij said, referring to Gandhi's recent visit to a fishing community during Bihar campaigning.

Poetic Taunt

True to form, Vij launched his critique in rhyme: "We won Haryana, we won Delhi, we've triumphed in Bihar, now Bengal preparations are underway." The statement indicates BJP is confident about future electoral contests.

'Schools for Crying' Jab

The minister intensified his attack by saying Congress needed to "open schools for crying" and stop their political activities altogether. "Looking at the condition of Congress in Bihar, they must take a lesson from this defeat," Vij said.

Anil Vij comments came after massive victory of NDA in Bihar Elections and Congress's devastating performance in the same. Congress failed miserably to secure respectful number of seats despite intensive campaigning in the state. Now, Gandhi's fishing photo-op, meant to connect with local communities, has become fodder for opposition ridicule.

The remarks reflect the BJP's growing confidence after successive electoral successes in Haryana, Delhi, and now Bihar, positioning it aggressively for upcoming state elections, including West Bengal.
