Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday by unveiling several public welfare schemes in Rohtak, showing the government's determination to cleanliness and drug-free society through direct action.
Symbolic Cleanliness Drive at Dawn
The day started early at Subhash Chowk, where Saini took a broom in hand and swept roads around Mansarovar Park in a symbolic move that brought civic hygiene into focus. The Chief Minister's personal touch conveyed a clear message of leadership by example, compelling officials as well as citizens to join the cleanliness drive.
During the event, CM Nayab Saini also interacted with the present sanitation workers and acknowledging their overlooked contribution in the society in maintaining public health and cleanliness. This interaction provided a dignified recognition to the work done by our sanitation workers who serve the community daily.
Environmental Focus Through Tree Plantation
The morning session spilled over to cleanliness when Saini planted a sapling at Mansarovar Park. Addressing participants present, he stressed that conservation of the environment is a daily affair and not mere symbolic acts during special campaigns. "Planting trees today amounts to planting the future. Let us all bear the responsibility to safeguard our environment, not only in this fortnight but daily," Saini said, relating immediate action to long-term environmental sustainability.
Community Mobilization Against Drug Abuse
The main event was the "Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Marathon," in which students, college youth, local citizens and social workers participated with enthusiasm.
The marathon track ran through city roads before reaching the main entrance of Maharshi Dayanand University, symbolically joining education with health awareness. Saini took the opportunity to reaffirm his government's anti-drug policy, declaring that Haryana was working tirelessly towards eradicating drug abuse. He stressed that grass roots awareness activities such as marathons are important in bringing prevention messages directly to communities.
The mix of activities under the Seva Pakhwada banner showed how public festivities can be used to achieve several community development objectives at the same time.
