Subedar Baldev Singh from Sirsa, Haryana has made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation at the world's highest battlefield. The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles soldier, who was promoted to Subedar just last year after 24 years of dedicated service, suffered chest pain on Sunday morning at Siachen Glacier in Ladakh.
Despite being rushed to the hospital by fellow soldiers, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and he breathed his last during treatment. Subedar Singh joined the 18th Regiment of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles as a sipahi (private) in March 2001.
The mortal remains of the brave soldier will arrive today at his ancestral village Jhopda in Sirsa, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors. Originally from Birpur Colony opposite Airforce Sirsa, Subedar Singh is survived by his mother, brother, wife, and two children. His father had passed away earlier.
The nation salutes this son of Haryana who served the country with unwavering dedication in one of the world's most challenging terrains.
