DUSU President Applies Cow Dung on Principal's Office Walls in Retaliatory Protest

DUSU president Ronak Khatri smeared cow dung on the walls of Principal Dr. Pratyush Vatsala's office in protest. This action comes days after viral videos showed the Principal applying cow dung to classroom walls.

In an unusual escalation of campus tensions, Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) President Ronak Khatri has taken dramatic action by applying cow dung to the walls of the Principal's office at Lakshmibai College, mirroring what he claims the administration did to student classrooms without permission.

The controversial protest centers around allegations that the college Principal had previously authorized the application of cow dung to classroom walls as part of what Khatri described as treating the institution like a "personal experiment lab."

"The Principal considers this college her experiment lab, so I did the same in her room," Khatri stated during the protest. "Students are distressed. How could they apply cow dung to a classroom without students' permission?"

Beyond the unusual nature of the cow dung application, Khatri raised serious safety concerns regarding classroom infrastructure. "When I reached that classroom, I found that there was just one entry and exit. There should have been two. It is mandatory for portacabins, as per UGC rules," he explained, suggesting this violation creates potentially dangerous conditions for students.

The DUSU President claimed the Principal deliberately avoided meeting him, stating, "When she came to know that I was coming to her, she did not meet me in her room. Students told me that she left 15 minutes before I came there."

Khatri has announced intentions to escalate the matter legally. "This lays the ground for FIR, my legal team is ready to take action," he declared, adding, "We will file an FIR and take the Principal to the High Court. She has violated rules."

The student leader also used the incident to highlight broader infrastructure concerns across Delhi University campuses. "I want to convey a message to Ministry of Education that in these times, there is a dire need for there to be ACs in classrooms, these are mandatory for portacabins. The quicker the Government understand this, students will be able to study better," Khatri urged.

The incident has sparked discussions across Delhi University about administrative accountability, student consultation in campus modifications, and the enforcement of safety regulations in educational facilities.

College authorities have not yet issued an official response to the allegations or the protest action. The controversy continues to develop as students await the administration's reaction and potential legal proceedings.
