Good news has arrived for Haryana residents. The general public has received major relief regarding property registration rates. The government has halted revisions to collector rates. Registrations will now continue at the previous rates. The Revenue Department has issued orders regarding this matter.

In the orders sent by the government to all districts, it has been stated that in public interest, the registration of immovable property transfers for the year 2025-26 can be continued at previous collector rates until further notice. It should be noted that new collector rates are typically implemented every April.

This development comes as welcome relief for property buyers and sellers across the state who were anticipating potential increases in registration costs. Collector rates, also known as circle rates, serve as the minimum valuation at which properties can be registered when being transferred from one party to another. These rates directly impact the stamp duty and registration fees that citizens must pay during property transactions.

The decision to maintain existing rates appears to be part of the state government's efforts to stimulate the real estate market and provide financial relief to citizens, especially during the beginning of the new financial year.

Last year, several districts in Haryana had seen increases ranging from 15-30% in collector rates, which had significantly raised the cost of property registration. The current decision to freeze rate revisions is expected to particularly benefit middle-class homebuyers and small property investors.

Local real estate associations have welcomed this decision, with many suggesting it will help maintain market stability and potentially boost housing demand in key areas like Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and other developing regions of the state.

The Revenue Department has directed all District Collectors and Sub-Registrars to implement these orders with immediate effect. Citizens planning property transactions in the near future are advised to proceed with their registration work at the current applicable rates.
