The Yamunanagar district administration has finalized arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit on April 14, where he will address a rally and lay the foundation stone for a thermal unit. The administration has allocated a total of 170 acres of land for the event, with 40 acres designated for the main pandal and seating arrangements, while 96 acres have been set aside for parking facilities.
Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta stated security setup includes the deployment of 10 Police Superintendents, 29 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and approximately 3,000 police personnel who will be stationed at various locations throughout the district.
"We will establish 22 checkpoints across the district and deploy 25 ambulances to handle any medical emergencies," Gupta explained. Additionally, 21 fire department vehicles will be positioned in different areas as a precautionary measure, and 15 medical counters will be set up to address health concerns of attendees.
The rehearsals for the entire operation will be conducted on April 12 and 13 to ensure flawless execution on the day of the visit. In preparation for the Prime Minister's arrival, the city is undergoing a cleanliness drive, and roads are being repaired.
Gupta noted that traffic route diversions might be implemented, if necessary, with timely notifications to be issued to minimize inconvenience to the public.
Regarding the land being used for the event, the Deputy Commissioner mentioned that approximately 130 acres belong to farmers, for whom compensation rates have already been determined. "We have prepared the case and sent it to the government. We expect the farmers to receive their payment before the event," he said.
It's worth noting that crops on the 130 acres were harvested before maturity to allow sufficient time for event preparations. Compensation for farmers has been set at approximately ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 per acre, with assurances that the amount will be transferred to the farmers' accounts shortly.
