Saweety Boora Case: Husband's Lawyer Speaks Out Against Allegations

Says Deepak Hooda was second highest-paid Pro Kabaddi player, refutes boxer's claims about his sexuality and financial status

Saweety Boora with her Husband Deepak Hooda

The legal battle between former world champion boxer Sweety Boora and her husband, former Indian kabaddi team captain Deepak Hooda, has taken a new turn as Hooda's lawyer has now responded to the allegations made by Boora.

Advocate Sagar Panghal has challenged several claims made by Boora, particularly regarding Hooda's financial status and personal life. "In 2014, Deepak Hooda was the second most expensive player in the Pro Kabaddi League," Panghal stated, addressing Boora's claim that Hooda was so poor that he used to bathe in a tub.

Seven-Year Relationship Before Marriage

Responding to Boora's allegation about Hooda's sexual orientation, Panghal said the couple had dated for seven years before marrying in 2022, including time spent in a live-in relationship.

"If Deepak had an interest in men, why would Sweety bring this up now after having dated him since 2015?" questioned Panghal. "They were in a live-in relationship before marriage. It doesn't make sense to make such claims now."

Professional Success Contradicts Poverty Claims

The lawyer highlighted Hooda's professional achievements to counter Boora's allegations about his financial background.

"Deepak Hooda rose from humble beginnings to where he is today. As far as poverty is concerned, he was the second highest-paid player in Pro Kabaddi in 2014. Telugu Titans bought him for Rs 12.6 lakh, just behind the top bid of Rs 12.80 lakh," Panghal stated.

Reconciliation Attempts and Emotional Distress

According to Panghal, Hooda had made several attempts to reconcile with Boora. "When Sweety left Deepak and moved to Hisar, he went to meet her on Valentine's Day with a gift. He wanted to end the bitterness between them, but Sweety refused," the lawyer said.

Panghal also revealed that Hooda had been suffering from depression due to the marital conflict. "He would tell me and his friends that he feared ending up like Atul Subhash (an AI engineer who died by suicide). We consoled him and assured him that wouldn't happen. He is slowly recovering from these issues."

Video of Physical Altercation

Regarding the video showing Boora physically assaulting Hooda at the women's police station in Hisar, Panghal denied Boora's claims that the footage was edited.

"All allegations are baseless. Sweety can clearly be seen assaulting him in the video," Panghal said. He advised Boora to resolve dowry cases in court rather than making public statements on social media.

The lawyer declined to discuss the specific cause of the dispute between the couple, stating that since the matter is in court and involves two families, he cannot disclose details to the media.

Background of the Ongoing Dispute

The dispute between the couple began when Boora filed a dowry harassment case against Hooda in Hisar, claiming that despite providing a considerable dowry including Rs 1 crore and a Fortuner vehicle, she was harassed for bringing insufficient dowry.

Hooda countered by filing a fraud case in Rohtak, alleging that Boora's family had deceived him of several lakhs of rupees and that she had physically attacked him on multiple occasions, once with a knife and another time while he was sleeping.

The situation escalated when Boora was summoned to the women's police station in Hisar on March 15, where she allegedly assaulted Hooda – an incident that was captured on video.
