The Haryana Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes on Tuesday immediately after Question Hour when BJP MLAs raised issues regarding police inspector recruitment conducted during former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's tenure in 2008-09.

BJP MLA from Narnaul, Om Prakash Yadav, cited a Punjab and Haryana High Court judgment regarding the recruitment process. He alleged that a topper's name was removed from the selection list using correction fluid and placed at the bottom of the list instead.

When Congress members protested these allegations, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mahipal Singh Dhanda questioned why Congress members hadn't brought newspapers to the House today as they usually did for other issues.

CM targets Congress over jobs

Amid the growing controversy, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini joined the attack, saying the High Court decision had once again made it clear that jobs were unfairly distributed during Congress rule.

"The student who was the topper wasn't selected. Instead, a relative's son from Panipat was given the job," Saini alleged. He further claimed that during the Assembly elections, Congress leaders had promised one job for every 50 votes.

Tensions escalate after Vij's remarks

The situation intensified when Electricity and Transport Minister Anil Vij made remarks against former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was not present in the House at the time.

Congress MLAs strongly objected to Vij's comments, with several members including Raghuvir Singh Kadian, Kuldeep Vats, and Ashok Arora standing up in protest. Seeing the escalating dispute, Speaker Harvinder Kalyan ordered that Vij's remarks be expunged from the record.

Congress members enter Well, later walk out

As tensions rose, Congress members approached the Speaker's Well, raising slogans in protest. Speaker Kalyan warned the protesting MLAs to return to their seats or face consequences, saying he would not allow the House atmosphere to be disrupted.

When Congress MLA Kadian retaliated against Vij using similar language that Vij had used against Hooda, the situation became more heated. Shortly afterward, Congress members staged a walkout from the Assembly.

Speaker issues warning

During the dispute, Congress MLA Dr. Raghuvir Singh Kadian accused Speaker Harvinder Kalyan of suppressing the opposition's voice. The Speaker responded firmly, warning Kadian, "I will not tolerate such remarks about the Chair." Throughout the controversy, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was absent from the House.
