
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's announced 24 major development projects. During a session in the state assembly on Thursday, the Chief Minister outlined plans that include the development of logistics hubs, industrial parks, and new residential sectors across the state.
The comprehensive development plan focuses on diversifying Haryana's economic base while enhancing its position as a key player in India's manufacturing and logistics sectors. The initiatives are expected to generate substantial employment opportunities and attract significant investments to the state.
Logistics and Industrial Development Takes Center Stage
In a major boost to the state's industrial infrastructure, CM Saini announced that 16 districts falling within the National Capital Region (NCR) will be developed as logistics hubs. "We are preparing a comprehensive action plan to develop these districts as logistics centers that will serve the entire northern region," the Chief Minister stated during his address. The industrial development initiatives include the establishment of a rail coach factory in Badhi, Sonipat, which is currently under development. Additionally, e-commerce giant Flipkart will set up Asia's largest supply center on 140 acres of land in Manesar, while Amazon is planning to establish its seventh fulfillment center in Gurugram.
Other significant industrial projects include:
- Allocation of 178 acres of land to Emprex in IMT Sohna, which will bring an investment of ₹7,000 crores
- A mega project by Aditya Birla Group in Panipat
- A medical device park on 225 acres in Karnal
- Expansion of the footwear park in IMT Rohtak
- An electric vehicle park in Rohtak with plans for phased expansion
- The upcoming inauguration of Maruti Suzuki's ₹18,000 crore plant in Kharkhoda
New Sectors
The Chief Minister announced the development of 41 new sectors across various cities in Haryana. Land acquisition for these sectors is currently underway through the e-Bhumi portal and under the Land Pooling Scheme. As part of this initiative, sectors 14, 16, and 22 in Kotbilla area of Panchkula and sector 23 in Pinjore-Kalka are being developed as pilot projects.
"These new sectors will provide modern residential and commercial spaces for our growing population and will be developed with state-of-the-art infrastructure," CM Saini explained.
Employment and Welfare Initiatives
The government has also outlined several welfare measures focused on women's empowerment and employment generation. According to the Chief Minister, the state had set a target of creating five lakh 'Lakhpati Didis' (women earning at least one lakh rupees annually). "Two lakh women have already achieved this milestone, and we aim to create three lakh more in the coming years," he said.
Women employed through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam will be granted an additional special leave each month. The Chief Minister also announced that legislation to crack down on illegal immigration agents who send youth abroad through irregular channels (known as 'Dunki route') will be introduced during the current budget session.
Gaushalas and Agricultural Support
In a significant move for animal welfare and rural development, CM Saini announced that cow sanctuaries (Gau Abhyaranyas) will be established in all districts of Haryana in a phased manner, similar to the existing ones in Panipat, Hisar, and Panchkula. He also revealed that ₹216 crores has been sanctioned for gaushalas (cow shelters) in January.
"Panchayats will now be able to lease grazing land to gaushalas at nominal rates for establishing new shelters and growing fodder," the Chief Minister stated.
In support of farmers, the government has decided to purchase Kinnow (a citrus fruit) at Minimum Support Price (MSP), providing price security to fruit growers in the state.
Education and Recruitment
The Chief Minister also addressed the educational sector, announcing that the recruitment process for 2,424 Associate Professors in colleges will be expedited. Additionally, the Haryana Public Service Commission has been requested to complete the recruitment process for 360 PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers) and 1,456 PRTs (Primary Teachers).
With these comprehensive announcements, the Haryana government has set the stage for rapid development across multiple sectors. "In our 100-day tenure, the BJP government has already fulfilled 19 commitments, and work is underway to complete the remaining 14 promises soon," CM Saini concluded.
