Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the state government is actively working to improve education quality and provide better learning opportunities for students. During the budget session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, while responding to questions raised by the opposition, the CM shared details about ongoing teacher recruitment efforts across the state.
"Our government is continuously working to enhance educational standards and ensure that students have access to quality learning opportunities," stated CM Saini during the discussion on the Governor's address.
Current Teaching Staff and Vacancies
The Chief Minister explained that all government primary and secondary schools in the state currently employ a combination of regular teachers, guest faculty, staff through the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation, and internal arrangements to meet educational needs.
According to reports from the MIS portal, government colleges have 7,986 sanctioned positions, with 5,422 lecturers currently working. The Haryana Public Service Commission is in the process of filling 2,424 Group-B Assistant Professor positions across various subjects.
Addressing Opposition Claims
CM Saini firmly rejected opposition allegations that 294 schools in Haryana have zero students. "This claim is completely baseless. There are only 28 schools without any students, and teachers from these schools have already been adjusted to other institutions," he clarified.
Special Focus on Nuh District
The Chief Minister highlighted special efforts to improve education in Nuh district, noting that a separate Mewat cadre was created on April 30, 2012, to ensure quality education for students in the region.
Upcoming Teacher Recruitment
CM Saini announced several major recruitment initiatives:
- A requisition for filling 1,456 Primary Teacher (PRT) positions was sent to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission on August 9, 2024
- A request to fill 360 vacant Postgraduate Teacher (PGT) positions across various subjects was submitted to the Haryana Public Service Commission in July 2024
- Recommendations for 59 positions have already been received, with joining expected to take place soon
- The remaining positions will be filled shortly
"We're committed to addressing teacher shortages across the state," said CM Saini. "These recruitment drives will significantly strengthen our educational infrastructure and improve the learning environment for students."
