In a disturbing revelation, an anonymous letter has accused a professor at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) in Sirsa of sexually harassing approximately 500 female students. The university authorities have taken swift action, forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the serious allegations.

Sirsa SP Vikrant Bhushan confirmed the initiation of the SIT led inquiry, emphasizing that further actions would be based on its findings. The SIT, headed by ASP Deepti Garg, has already commenced its investigation, visiting the university to examine the claims made in the two-page anonymous letter.

The letter alleges that the accused professor engaged in sexual harassment, reportedly summoning female students to his office bathroom and subjecting them to inappropriate touching. Shockingly, the letter contends that the professor used intimidation, threatening the victims against reporting the incidents, and claimed to have deleted crucial CCTV footage that could serve as evidence.

Additionally, the letter suggests that the professor warned the students of potential repercussions, including expulsion, if they dared to file a complaint. The disturbing nature of the allegations highlights an environment of fear and exploitation within the academic institution.

The letter draws attention to a parallel incident in Jind School, where the principal faced arrest for allegedly sexually harassing several female students. The revelation underscores the prevalence of such misconduct and the urgent need for comprehensive investigations and preventive measures in educational institutions.

University authorities, upon receiving the anonymous letter, promptly referred the matter to the internal complaint committee for a thorough investigation. While no FIR has been registered yet, the seriousness of the allegations demands a meticulous and impartial inquiry to ensure justice for the affected students and uphold the integrity of the academic institution.
