In a major crackdown on examination fraud, Nuh police have arrested five regular students who were orchestrating proxy appearances in their 10th grade Haryana Board examinations. The arrests come as part of a widening investigation into examination malpractice in the district, where numerous fake candidates have already been detained.
Regular Students Behind the Fraud
According to Nuh City Station House Officer Naresh Kumar, the five apprehended students, including one female, had arranged for imposters to take their examinations. These students were arrested during the 10th grade examinations when authorities conducted thorough identity verifications of test-takers.
"These students had arranged for others to take their exams while they remained absent," said SHO Kumar. "The female student had hired another girl to appear in her place."
The arrests follow the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the Additional Superintendent of Police of Nuh district specifically to target examination fraud.
CSC Operator's Role in Falsifying Documents
In a related development, police also arrested a Computer Service Centre (CSC) operator who played a critical role in facilitating the fraud. The operator, identified as a resident of Marora village with a center near the Nuh vegetable market, had been manipulating original admit cards.
"The CSC operator was changing names and photographs on original admit cards to enable impersonation," explained Officer Kumar. "This sophisticated operation allowed imposters to carry seemingly legitimate identification documents into examination halls."
Earlier Mass Arrests at Mount Aravalli Public School
This latest action follows the recent arrest of 34 fake candidates at Mount Aravalli Public School who were taking exams on behalf of registered students. The investigation has now extended to both the imposters and the actual students who arranged for the substitutions. "First we caught the fake candidates, and now we're arresting the actual registered students who hired them," said Kumar.
Strict Vigilance Continues
Under the leadership of Police Captain Vijay Pratap, strict measures have been implemented across the district to ensure fair examinations. Police personnel have been deployed at all examination centers with instructions to thoroughly verify candidate identities. "Our vigilance is extended to those attempting fraud from inside the examination centers as well," Officer Kumar explained. "No one involved in these malpractices will be spared." The police are preparing to present all the accused before the court as they continue their investigation to identify others involved in the examination fraud network.
