The government is constructing new expressways and highways to ensure better connectivity between Noida's upcoming Jewar Airport and other parts of the country. As part of this initiative, a Greenfield Expressway is being built from Faridabad to Jewar Airport. An 8.5-kilometer section of this expressway has now received approval to be elevated. The construction of pillars for this elevated section has already begun near Sector-65.
With this elevation, the total project cost is expected to increase by approximately 48%, reaching ₹2,450 crore. Despite the increased cost, the benefits to travelers will be substantial once the expressway is operational.
15-Minute Journey
Thanks to the Faridabad-Greenfield Expressway, travelers will be able to reach the airport in just 15 minutes. Currently, the journey between these two locations takes around 2 hours. The new expressway will have six lanes and will reduce the distance from 90 km to just 31 km. Of this expressway, 22 kilometers will pass through Haryana, while the remaining 9 kilometers will be in Uttar Pradesh.
The six-lane Faridabad-Jewar Expressway is being developed under the Bharatmala Project. It will stretch from Ballabhgarh to Dayanatpur village in Jewar, passing through several villages including Chandawali, Sotai, Bahalpur, Fafunda, Panhera Khurd, Narhawali, Mahmadpur, Hirapur, Mohana, and Chainsa.
The primary objective of this project is to improve road connectivity and boost economic development along the Faridabad-Jewar route. This expressway is expected to be a game-changer for regional transportation and development once completed.
