Sonepat 's Mukul Dahiya Aims to Conquer 9 Arabian Sea Channels in a Month

Sonepat's Mukul Dahiya aims to become the first person to conquer nine Arabian Sea water channels in a month, with three successful crossings already completed under official supervision.

Swimmer Mukul Dahiya from Kharkhoda 's Thana Kalan village began his ambitious journey of crossing all nine channels of Arabian Sea on February 1, completing three challenging crossings under the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association and Open Water Sea Swimming Association's supervision. His achievements include crossing the 16-km Elephanta Caves to Kasa Island stretch in 5 hours 14 minutes, the 17-km Atal Setu to Prong Reef channel in 3 hours 35 minutes, and the 12-km Gateway of India to Mora Port route. 

Upcoming Challenges

Swimmer Mukul has planned to cross the remaining 6 channels between February 12 and 20 which also includes the 36km Dharatar port to Gateway of India Stretch. After crossing the six channels he would qualify for the Asian Book of Records and if he conquers all nine he would earn the Guinness World Record. 

Preparation for Future Challenges

Dahiya's ultimate ambition is to swim the English Channel, considered highest achievement in the field of open-water swimming. Arabian Sea crossings will prepare him well for the future challenges states his coach Santosh Manohar Patil. Mukul 's father Balram Dahiya showed immense proud in the achievements of his son.
