Advocate Jagmohan Manchanda filed the complaint again Ex-Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal after seeing a viral video where Kejriwal allegedly accused the Haryana BJP government of "poisoning" the Yamuna river. The complainant is the President of Markandeshwar Mahadev Shiv Mandir in Shahabad Markanda, claims these statements were deliberately timed during the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj.

Political Motive Behind the Allegations

According to the complaint, Kejriwal and other AAP members allegedly made these statements to influence voters and create unrest between Delhi and Haryana. Manchanda emphasized that as a former Chief Minister, Kejriwal was well-aware of Delhi's water supply systems yet chose to make controversial statements which states that there is a clear political motive.

The Kurukshetra police have confirmed that they are conducting a detailed investigation following the court's directions. The FIR includes charges of spreading false information, promoting enmity, making false charges, and deliberate and malicious acts.

A significant aspect of the case is its timing during the Maha Kumbh, where millions of Hindu devotees take holy dips at the Triveni Sangam, which includes the Yamuna river. The complainant suggests this timing adds a sensitive religious dimension to the issue.
