Haryana Launches Cashless Treatment Scheme for Road Accident Victims

Haryana Police DGP reviews innovative cashless medical treatment scheme for road accident victims, offering up to 1.5 lakh rupees free treatment within 7 days, covering 1,228 government and private hospitals.

Haryana government has launched a cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims in order to reduce road accident facilities. The scheme provides up to ₹1.5 lakh for medical expenses and was reviewed by Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor.

The cashless treatment scheme is being implemented in collaboration with ministry of Road, Transport and Highways and aims to provide immediate medical attention to the road accidents. Under the cashless treatment scheme, 1228 government and private hospitals across the state have been empanelled to provide treatment to road accident victims. 

The scheme is pretty simple and easy to access. In the event of road accident the victim is taken to the nearest empanelled hospital where they receive cashless treatment and the hospital bills will be reimbursed by the government. The scheme provides up to ₹1.5 lakh for medical expenses and the victim does not have to pay a single penny for the treatment. 

The Haryana government has already set a target to reduce road accident fatilities by 25% in 2025. According to Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor. The government has already seen a significant drop in road accident facilities in 2024 with nearly 300 fewer deaths compared to previous years.
