Haryana BJP Chief Mohan Lal Badoli aloong with singer Rocky Mittal has been accused of gang rape by a woman from New delhi. Badoli has dismissed all the allegations stating them "baseless" but these have created a turmoil in the party office. BJP Minister Anil Vij also stated in a recent interview that Badoli should step down from his positions amid the ongoing charges and allegations.

Critical Timing and Party Crisis

The accusations couldn't have come at a more critical time for the BJP. The party is currently undertaking organizational elections across Haryana, having completed booth and mandal level selections. The timing has forced the party to reconsider Badoli's leadership position, despite his recent success in helping secure BJP's unprecedented third term in Haryana.

Potential Candidates

With Badoli's reappointment now in question, several other leaders have emerged as potential candidates for the state president position. These include former MP Sanjay Bhatia, former minister Manish Grover, Ajay Gaur, and current general secretaries Krishan Bedi, Archana Gupta, and Surinder Punia.

The rape controversy has wider implications for BJP as it can directly affect its strategies for the upcoming municipal elections as well as Delhi Assembly elections. The BJP should manage the crisis well to minimise its imapct on the goal to end Ten year tenure of AAP in Delhi.
