The Maha Kumbh 2025 features an extraordinary level of technological integration, with four Integrated Control and Command Centres (ICCCs) monitoring the 10,000-acre temporary city. Over 3,000 cameras, including 1,800 AI-enabled ones, provide real-time surveillance of the area that hosts over one crore pilgrims. The system has proven crucial in managing crowds and responding to emergencies efficiently. 

Quick Emergency Response

After the cylinder blast occurred at the Gita Press camp in Sector 19, the emergency response team was quick and efficient in distinguishing the fire. The incident was detected instantly through the ICCC, with water tenders arriving within seven minutes. The fire damaged 170 cottages and extinguished in 22 minutes preventing any casualities despite major material losses.

Infrastructure and Security Measures

The event's security infrastructure is impressive, with over 60,000 police personnel deployed across 56 police stations. The monitoring system oversees 30 pontoon bridges and numerous entry/exit gates. Each ICCC operates with dedicated teams working 10-hour shifts, ensuring round-the-clock surveillance. A centralized call center coordinates with various emergency services, including police, women's helpline, fire, and ambulance services.

Administrative Response and Recovery

After the fire incident Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Modi were briefed on the situation. Emphasizing the administration's full support in recovery efforts ,Gita Press trustee Krishna Kumar Khemka confirmed that services would resume promptly. Despite the setback, the organization remains committed to completing the Kalpavas and maintaining spiritual services for pilgrims.
